Dr. Julie Andino

Dr. Julie Andino is a city girl at heart, born and raised in Queens, but has currently settled in the suburbs of Long Island. “As a young child, I spent my summer vacation at my Grandparent’s house in Ecuador where I would help my grandmother care for the farm animals. At just 4 years old, I knew that I wanted to become a vet, I could not even pronounce the word correctly (verinaria)”.She has now been in the field over 20 years, starting out as a receptionist, cross trainedto be a technician assistant, and then going onto Ross University to pursue her dream ofbecoming a veterinarian. Dr. Andino has worked in private practice and loves the one-on-one relationship she builds with her patients and their parents. She knows building trust with the clients and putting their minds at ease is just as important as taking care of their pets. She believes it is imperative that each pet is treated with the utmost care and receives excellent medical care. She loves everything about general practice and has a special interest in dentistry, educating clients on the importance of oral health from day one.

Over the years, Dr. Andino has not only been practicing exceptional medicine, but is passionate about making sure that the next generation continues to do so as well. She enjoys being a mentor, not only to her colleagues but the entire team from nurse to receptionist. "I believe everyone plays an integral part in caring for our patients .” She works diligently to educate and support each teammate because she knows that a great work environment makes a world of difference. When not at work, Dr. Andino loves spending time with her family, reading, exercising, and relaxing at home with her 4 rescue pets (a 10 year old Pitbull and 3 kitties) and her soon to be wife Laura with whom they share their love for rescue and are involved with several organizations.
